Liam Neeson says the wave of sexual harassment allegations in Hollywood has turn out to be ”a little bit of a witch hunt”.

The 65-year-old star thinks among the allegations have been an overreaction and he additionally defended Dustin Hoffman, who has been accused of sexual misconduct.

Speaking on Ireland’s ‘The Late Late Show’, he stated: ”There is a little bit of a witch hunt taking place, too. There’s some folks, well-known folks, being all of the sudden accused of touching some woman’s knee or one thing, and all of the sudden they’re being dropped from their program or one thing.

”The Dustin Hoffman factor, I am on the fence about that. Because once you’re doing a play and also you’re with your loved ones, different actors, technicians, you do foolish issues. You do foolish issues and it turns into type of superstitious; when you do not do it each night time you suppose it is going to jinx the present. I believe Dustin Hoffman was … I am not saying I’ve accomplished comparable issues like what he did. Apparently, he touched one other woman’s breast and stuff. But it is childhood stuff what he was doing.”

However, he acknowledged there’s a drawback with harassment in all industries, not simply Hollywood.

He stated: ”There is a motion taking place. It’s wholesome and it is throughout each business. The focus appears to be on Hollywood on the minute. But it is throughout each business. I am a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, and a really proud one. And I get despatched details and figures and stuff. And when you learn the stuff I’ve examine how feminine staff are being handled in farms, ranches and all the remainder of it, it is chilling.”
