RoyalOak next week is having a big recycling occasion for individuals planning to eliminate scrap metal, electronic products and books.
Thetotally free recycling drive is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12 at the city & rsquo;s Department of Public Services backyard at 1600 N. Campbell Road.
A paper shredder will be on hand for those who have to utilize it.
Peoplecan recycle big products such as devices, ranges, fridges, tools, patio area furnishings as well as kitchen area sinks.
Amongelectronic products that are accepted are computer systems, screens, printers and vacation lights.
Peopleare asked to bring any undesirable books to the occasion. The books will be contributed to the Friends of the Royal Oak Library for resale to assist support the library.
Volunteersare not able to accept any liquids, gas tanks, fluorescent bulbs or harmful products.
Theoccasion is done two times a year by volunteers with the Royal Oak Environmental AdvisoryBoard Disposal of the products is dealt with by the South Oakland County Resource Recovery Authority, the local garbage consortium for 12 cities, consisting of Royal Oak.
Collectionof the recyclables, and the cash it represents, is subtracted from Royal Oak & rsquo;s garbage collection costs with SOCRRA.
